We know health can be a handful. So we’ve custom built our wellness hubs with only one goal in mind - to make every Tasmanian’s health journey a little easier.
We host a range of sessions, events, and activities for both our members and the community to attend. We also work with like-minded Tasmanian organisations to deliver programs. If you are interested in working with us in our space, get in touch at events@stlukes.com.au.

Mat Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility and enhancing overall body alignment. It involves performing a series of controlled movements on a mat, using body weight as a resistance. The exercises target specific muscle groups including the abdominals, back, hips, and glutes.
Qigong
Join Chinese doctor and acupuncturist Nicholas Beasley for an ancient healing practice involving gentle movements, breathing techniques and self-massage suitable for all bodies at any age.
Through the harmonisation of the mind, body and breath, regulate the nervous system, enhance physical health and invigorate all levels of human experience.

Strength For Life now has extra sessions per week* so more of Hobart can gain access this popular class.
Strength for Life aims to improve the health and vitality of older adults through exercise and community.
Weekly sessions are run by an accredited exercise physiologist and involve a combination of strength and balance exercises to help improve physical fitness and mobility for a better quality of life.
All fitness levels are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothing and a drink bottle.

Beginners Yoga focuses on improving flexibility and mobility, balance and coordination.
The class encourages everyone to take their time to experience each individual pose and to move at their own pace. Props will be provided to support joints and areas of tension.
This is suitable for beginners and intermediate practitioner with instructors from Udara.
Stretch and Strengthen Exercise Class
Join experienced fitness instructor Megs for a mix of stretching, Pilates, yoga, and general strength work using your own body weight. There will be options for gentle through to more challenging levels with consistent cues to help people feel comfortable to work at their own pace. This class is suitable for anyone looking to improve their flexibility, balance and wellbeing.
Lunchtime Concert Series with Luke Parry

This training is open to all physiotherapists with an interest in supporting people living with motor neurone disease (MND).
A specialised course designed by ReSPiCoND Collaborative that will help you deepen your understanding and enhance your skills in supporting ventilation and managing airway clearance in individuals with MND across their disease progression.

Taming Negative Thoughts
Our minds are constantly talking to us, but sometimes they are not telling the truth. Automatic, habitual negative thoughts can ruin your day, steal your happiness, and prolong grief. In this session, Rebecca will teach strategies that help you learn to identify self-critical, overgeneralised and guilty thoughts, replacing them with helpful thoughts that give you a more accurate and fair assessment of any situation.
LGBTIQA+ Professional Development
This training through Kentish Regional Clinic aims to provide service providers, interested professionals and community members, who would like to deepen their understanding and confidence in working with and/or supporting LGBTIQA+ people, with LGBTIQA+ specific information and strategies for inclusion.

This workshop will help you to understand the internal landscape of those affected by trauma, the common impacts on a person’s brain and body, and what this means in terms of behaviour, social skills, self-regulation and more. Lifeline Tasmania - Suicide Conversation Skills
This short workshop is designed to provide everyone with the language skills to talk safely about suicide.
Using the Recognise, Respond, and Refer Lifeline framework to structure the workshop, we explore guiding a conversation from beginning to end. Starting with understanding why someone may consider suicide, preparing yourself mentally, ways to begin the conversation, right through to asking if they are considering suicide, suggesting referral pathways, and taking care of yourself once the conversation is over.

Join Dr. Bruno Cayoun for a 45-minute mindfulness meditation to enhance presence, emotional balance, and compassion through mindfulness of breath, body sensations and loving-kindness meditation. Dr. Cayoun is an experienced psychologist who has been teaching mindfulness meditation in clinical practice for the past 24 years to support wellbeing and personal growth.

SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY Mental Health First Aid Training
1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental health problem in any given year.
The Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
Please note this course is not a therapy or support group. It’s an education course to learn how to give first aid to others.
Loop Jam Music Experience
Loop Jam is a fully interactive community music making experience. With the use of a looping device and drum machine, you can make and play your own music with loads of instruments provided or sing to your favourite music.
This is popular activity for all ages and abilities and is designed for children and their adult carer.

Your Way to 5k - Walk and Run Club
Always wanted to run 5k but not sure where to start?
Over eight weeks build up your stamina and technique, learn how to prevent injury and make running fun, and prepare for the Cancer Council’s Womens 5k run on the 14th of September. Join personal trainers from Fit’n’kicking for a guided walk/run program with like-minded people and get individual attention to help you progress from your starting point.
Drop in and out when it suits your schedule and meet at the front entrance of St Lukes Launceston.
Story time with Beck - Tex the Travelling Kelpie
Come along and meet author Beck Burns and give Tex a pat for story time and book signing. Join Tex and his family as they travel Australia on an amazing journey searching for surf, fun, friendships and adventure. Read along with the family as they share their tales, inspiring travel, connection, and story telling. Reading will begin at 10:35am with the opportunity for questions and book signing afterwards. Family Cooking Workshop – Healthy Eating on a Budget
In the lead up to the agriCULTURED Festival join celebrity chef Rhys Hannon and Eat Well Tasmania for a workshop designed to educate families on budgeting for healthy, nutritionally dense foods as an alternative to processed meals. Our comprehensive general first aid program covers DRSABCD and offers engaging activities for kids of all ages. Little ones can bandage teddies and learn to call 000, while older children practice CPR and defibrillation. Learn the skills needed to keep yourself and your family safe.

Colin Howell experienced a stroke at the age of 67 while seemingly fit and healthy, prompting him to become a Stroke Safe Speaker for the Stroke Foundation so he can share his journey and promote the Stroke F.A.S.T message.
In Colin’s powerful and informative session held during National Stroke Week, he will cover what a stroke is, the impact a stroke can have, the signs of stroke so that you can save someone’s life, and what you can do to prevent a stroke (80% of strokes are preventable).
