Vaping and smoking research

Vaping and smoking research

Vaping Research - 12- to 18 year-olds

Vaping is one of the key health issues facing young people today. As part of our vision to make Tasmania the healthiest island on the planet, St Lukes is committed to supporting young people to remove nicotine from their lives.

Researchers from the University of Tasmania School of Medicine and the Menzies Institute for Medical Research are working in collaboration with the Department of Health and Quit Tasmania to design ways to support Tasmanian kids to remove vaping from their lives.

The research is using an exciting approach that involves working directly with young people to design and test the solutions.

They are looking for Tasmanians aged 12 to 18 years to be a part of the research. The research involves a survey and/or group discussions and/or interviews.

Once you have submitted consent, you will get access to the survey link to share with your young person/people.

Smoking and vaping research in rural areas - 15+

This project is about working with locals in rural areas to find out their thoughts about smoking, vaping, giving up, and how people in rural areas can be supported to give up nicotine.

Researchers from the University of Tasmania School of Medicine and the Menzies Institute for Medical Research are working in collaboration with the Department of Health and the Royal Flying Doctors Service to design ways to support people living in rural Tasmania to remove nicotine from their lives.

They are looking for Tasmanians aged 15 years and over living in rural Tasmania to be a part of the research.

You can either complete our short online survey and be entered to win a $50 gift voucher, or chat with
one of our research team for an interview and receive a $30 gift voucher for your time.
