Basic Plus Hospital
Everything you need to get started.
With a $500 excess, don’t let your health cover slow you down.
Our Basic Plus Hospital product gives you top private Hospital cover for the clinical categories covered, with a $500 excess.
This product provides members with cover for more than the minimum clinical category services for a Basic tier product however it has more exclusions than our Bronze cover options.
The clinical category of hospital psychiatric services is a restricted service meaning the benefit is limited, once the excess is deducted, to the public hospital shared ward room rate if you elect to be treated as a private patient in a public hospital. There is very limited cover for a restricted service in a private hospital. If you do elect to be treated in a private hospital for the restricted services significant out-of-pocket costs will apply. Some clinical categories are excluded from cover and therefore no benefit is payable.
You can also combine this product with a stand-alone extras cover to tailor your own combined hospital and extras package.
For our Basic Plus Hospital 500 product, the full excess for adults applies to both same-day and overnight hospitalisations. The excess does not apply to child dependants covered on the policy.
For information on waiting periods, including pre-existing conditions, exclusions, restrictions, co-payments and or excesses, visit our membership conditions.
