Discount basketball tickets for St.LukesHealth members

St.LukesHealth is proud to partner with Tasmanian basketball clubs the Launceston Tornadoes and North-West Thunder as naming-rights sponsor for the 2021 season.

As a not-for-profit health insurer, St.LukesHealth is extremely excited to be cheering on the teams after the 2020 season was cancelled due to COVID-19, with the season due to start on Saturday, April 17.

As a St.LukesHealth member you too can cheer on the teams with a discount on adult tickets and membership.
This year, the Launceston Tornadoes will offer season memberships, allowing members to access all nine home games at Elphin Sports Stadium.

Tornadoes Operations Manager Corey Ackerly said the Launceston Tornadoes were excited for the season ahead.

“With the support of the local community and our major sponsor, St.LukesHealth, the club has come through the past 12 months in a stronger position on and off the court,” he said.

“With COVID-19 regulation still affecting the capacity of our games, we are recommending that our supporters buy a season membership to ensure they secure their ticket to Tornadoes games.

“We look forward to seeing you at a sold-out Elphin Sports Stadium for our first home game on Saturday, April 24.”

Thunder president John Beard said he was thrilled to partner with St.LukesHealth until the end of 2023 to provide aspiring athletes with a positive platform for health and well-being.

“Thunder is extremely grateful for the support as we negotiate our way through a COVID-affected landscape. Our ongoing relationship will have some concrete benefits, with St.LukesHealth policyholders able to obtain discounted entry to all home games in 2021,” Mr Beard said.

“The league is pushing all NBL1 clubs to offer a fully electronic ticketing system for game-day sales, which will allow for seamless records in regards to stadium numbers and any required contact tracing.”

The men’s and women’s teams will be competing in the NBL1 league with the first-round game scheduled for April 17. The fixture for the season can be found here.

There will be plenty of action with a number of double-headers scheduled throughout the season.
